A Very Doggie Christmas

My family and I thought a couple weeks ago that it would be a good idea to give back on Christmas. After all, Christmas is all about giving. But this time, we gave something much greater than a present with a name-tag and a bow. We decided that we wanted to go and walk the dogs for The Chance Foundation. Some of you may already know what The Chance Foundation is. For those of you who don’t, The Chance Foundation is an organization that helps homeless, abused, and abandoned dogs and is very close to my heart.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t bring my doggie, Izzy, to walk the dogs. We gave him lots of love and toys when we got home to make up for it. At the farm, we started walking some dogs named “Minnie Pearl,” “Twinkie,” “Penny,” “Susie,” and “Sparky.” (Adoption information is on The Chance Foundation’s site) They were so sweet and had lots of love in their hearts. Afterward, they let the dogs run on the farm and believe me… they LOVED running. Even though the entire property was fenced, they still tried to keep the dogs in one area. My brother chased after half of the dogs and even took a tumble going after one.

Overall it was a wonderful Christmas. My family started a new tradition this year that we hope to pass on to others. All that’s left to say is…

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
