CHANCE FOUNDATION

The Chance Foundation

The Chance Foundation helps homeless, neglected, abused and/or abandoned dogs. While the dogs are in their care, they give them housing, food, vaccinations, spaying/neutering and any medical care they may need.

They give them plenty of love and attention and work on improving their socialization skills and obedience training in hopes that it will help them find their perfect match with a loving home.  Every dog they have taken in so far has made great strides of improvement regarding their temperament, socialization, training and general well-being.  They take in as many dogs as we can afford to at any given time.  If you or someone you know is interested in a loving companion, please look at the dogs they have available on their site: http://www.countryclubkennels.com/the-chance-foundation.html

Chance’s Story

CCK_CarlaAndChance2“Chance” was found four days before Christmas of 2000 lying in a local shelter on a cold, concrete floor. He was scared, lonely, and very depressed. He was so weak from not eating that he couldn’t even lift his head off the floor. The chart said he was 14 years old, deaf and blind; so the odds weren’t good for him getting adopted. He was scheduled to be euthanized that day.

Fortunately, a very special person named Carla Nammack came to his rescue. She was there to drop of presents for the homeless dogs and started crying at the sight of him. She had no intention of adopting a dog that day, but in her own words said, “No dog deserves to die that way.” She brought him home not knowing how long he would live, but happy knowing someone who love him and he would enjoy his last days.

While at the time she thought that she was doing something nice for him, she soon realized that he made her realize how much you could love someone.  She adored him with all of her heart and told everyone how much joy he brought her.  He repaid her by being a loving, affectionate, comical companion to her and her other numerous dogs.

He has a lot of life left in him and Carla continues to give other dogs just like him a “second chance!”

Ann’s Story

The Chance Foundation is very close to my heart because I’ve been around dogs since I was very young. When I was younger I had a dog named Buster who was the love of my life. He was playful, happy, and LOVED food. We used to take Buster to Country Club Kennels, run by the same woman who runs The Chance Foundation, when we went out of town. I used to remember seeing a book they had in the front office with pictures of dogs they had up for adoption from The Chance Foundation. I don’t think I truly understood the importance of this organization until after Buster passed away from cancer. It was a very sad time for me. When I realized all the good that The Chance Foundation was doing, I wanted to get involved. This organization means so much to me and I hope one day I’ll be able to start one just like this, helping as many dogs as I can.
